ProWrap consists of quick reviews of the television shows we don’t cover with full reviews or podcast episodes during the week.

Colony – S2E1 – “Eleven.Thirteen” | Sundays at 9pm | USA Network

Colony’s second season premiere takes us back in time to the day of The Arrival. This provided much-needed insight into how main players found themselves in the positions they were in when the series began.

The most interesting revelations:

  • Our new alien overlords kidnapped key people secretly tasked with rebuilding society should something happen to it. Then, they snatched up Snyder (Peter Jacobson) - recognizing his ain’t shit status - and gave him an offer he couldn’t refuse. He could choose only one person to join him in safety, so he took his daughter against her will and sent his ex-wife to her mom’s. Cold.
  • Will (Josh Holloway) suspected his partner, Devon (Carolyn Michelle Smith), of being dirty, yet he arrives on her doorstep in present day when his search for Charlie (Jacob Buster) beyond the wall goes left.
  • The aliens literally dropped the wall like it was hot. And it was scary as hell.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - S4E9 - “Broken Promises” | Tuesdays at 10pm | ABC

The L.M.D. kicked off with a vengeance as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returned from holiday hiatus. Aida (Mallory Jansen) sent robot-May (Ming-Na Wen) into the S.H.I.E.L.D. offices hoping she’ll be able to help her obtain the Darkhold. However, since she’s read the book and Mack (Henry Simmons) has seen a lot of robot uprising movies from the ’80s, Director Mace (Jason O’Mara) decides her hard drive needs to be wiped. Aida makes it clear (with violence) she doesn’t want a reboot. In the end, Aida is beheaded and robot-May’s infiltration is still in play. Oh, and Radcliffe (John Hannah) is a lying liar who lies and he and the REAL Aida are still plotting to obtain the Darkhold.

Meanwhile, Senator Nadeer (Parminder Nagra) changes her mind about killing her brother, trusting his claims that he fought the inhuman change. However, Shockley (John Pyper-Ferguson) don’t know Vijay (Manish Dayal) like that and tries to kill him anyway… and whatdaya know? Vijay has super speed and handily avoids death… again. Still, he chooses to leave with his sister when Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and Director Mace arrive and offer him help. That ends up being his final poor decision as Ellen Nadeer tearfully puts a bullet in his chest and orders his weighted body be tossed into the ocean, where it re-cocoons on the ocean’s floor. 1. The Colony premiere was so good! The dropping of the wall was awesome. I totally forgot how much I liked that show last year.
