Will Dexter’s Final Season Be a Masterpiece?

After 8 seasons, Showtime’s Dexter will be coming to an end later this summer. If last season was all about Deb coming to terms with what Dexter is, this final season seems to be all about her coming to terms with what she did to protect his secret.

In this latest promo teaser for the final season, I couldn’t help but notice how many of Dexter’s victims have been “innocent,” and outside the lines of Harry’s code. Will Dexter pay for his crimes? Is there redemption for Deb? I’m not sure that there can be a happy ending, and as much as I’ve rooted for Dexter in the past, I’m even less sure that he deserves one.

The end begins on June 30th.
